And in late 2023, Texas Central received a Corridor ID program grant to study the route's potential for partnership with Amtrak. The backers of Texas Central declined repeated requests from CNBC for a comment on the project's progress and expected completion date.

The "DC Versus Marvel Omnibus," to be released August 6, 2024, is a collection of various crossover comics, and just the second collaboration by DC and Marvel in two decades. From 1976 to 2003, crossovers between the DC and Marvel universes (“Superman vs. Uslan recalled similar “interplay” among the companies, citing a regular DC vs. Marvel softball match in Central Park as evidence of camaraderie. CNN —Twenty years ago this month, I was a young Marine lieutenant marching down a California street in an Iraq War victory parade. It was the right decision to kill insurgents without losing more Marines, but leveling a school doesn’t win you a lot of hearts and minds. To be sure, there are some fundamental differences between Israel’s war with Hamas and America’s war in Iraq. Our First Marine Division motto in Iraq, under General Mattis, was “no better friend, no worse enemy.” I want Hamas to know no greater enemy than the Israeli Army, and I want to see every Hamas fighter defeated. There are a lot of peace-loving Palestinians in Gaza who loathe Hamas, but it’s up to the Israeli Army to prove themselves better friends.

CNN —A New York appeals court judge on Friday rejected Donald Trump’s attempt to stop the ongoing $250 million civil fraud trial, but temporarily halted the process of breaking up his businesses. Yet there is one group that doesn’t gain the same protection from being rich, the study finds: Black mothers and babies. In this game of chicken, if the conservatives don’t blink and McCarthy refuses to back down, it could result in a chaotic floor fight with House members taking multiple votes for speaker — something that has not happened in a century. The House was called to order at noon and the chamber moved to the first order of business: electing the speaker. The House held three more unsuccessful votes for speaker that day before adjourning just after 2 p.m. The date was Feb. 2, 1856, two months after the first speaker vote.

The report, authored by My Green Lab in collaboration with with Urgentem, an independent provider of emissions data, examined direct and indirect carbon emissions created by hundreds of companies in the biopharma industry from publicly available and inferred data. Reporting of scope 3 emissions remains imperfect, there is no standardisation on how this data is gathered and measured, said Connelly. "So some companies do have significantly higher carbon emissions for scope 3, while others are significantly lower, or it may just be that they are reporting quite differently from their peers." Executives from companies big and small told Reuters they were optimistic about strides being made towards cutting carbon output in the industry.
